Q: Do I have to have a prescription from my doctor to get any of the products at Performance Bracing & Orthotics?
A: No, you do not have to have a prescription to purchase a product at PB&O. You will have to have a current prescription from a physician for Performance Bracing & Orthotics to file a claim with Medicare or your insurance company.

Q: Will my insurance pay for the foot orthotics my doctor prescribed? Or will my insurance pay for this elbow brace?
A: We will verify your insurance benefits to determine if the brace or orthotics prescribed by your physician are covered under your insurance. Many insurance companies do not cover durable medical equipment, foot orthotics, or orthopedic soft goods. If the product is not a covered benefit with your insurance, you can still purchase the product as part of your physician’s recommended plan of care.

Q: Does Performance Bracing & Orthotics take my insurance?
A: PB&O is a Medicare provider. We are also a preferred provider for most of the major insurance companies.

Q: Will I have to pay anything for the brace if my insurance company pays for it?
A: After we verify your eligibility and benefit coverage with your insurance company, we will inform you in easy to understand language what your insurance coverage is for the product your doctor ordered. You will be responsible for paying your responsibility as quoted to us by your insurance company when we fit you with the brace.

Q: Do I have to have an appointment to receive the services that Performance Bracing & Orthotics offers?
A: You do not need an appointment. For convenience, we provide a full range of services to walk-in patients during normal business hours at our retail location in Creve Coeur. Many of our patients or repeat customers prefer to call and schedule an appointment, especially for casting for custom foot orthotics, custom knee braces, or custom Ankle-Foot-Orthosis (AFO’s).

Q: What are your business hours and where are you located?
A: PB&O is open from 8:00 am to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday. We're located in Creve Coeur at 845 N. New Ballas Court in the City Place 5 building, (zip code 63141), about ½ mile east of I270 at the Olive Road exit.

Q: Will I be able to see a qualified healthcare provider when I come in to PB&O?
A: Yes, a credentialed healthcare provider will wait on you. Our retail facility is staffed with certified orthotists, certified athletic trainers, and physical therapists. This assures the patient or customer that we will listen to your needs, and recommend the appropriate product to meet those needs. If there is not an orthopedic brace or support that will help you, we will kindly let you know. If we do not have a product that will help you, but know where you can get what’s best for you, we will let you know that too.
